[Reporter Ge Youhao/Kaohsiung Report] The Mingcheng business district in Kaohsiung City was cut off without warning on the evening of the 23rd, causing many restaurants to be unable to operate normally. As of 9:00 last night, 425 households had been restored to power.
Taipower rushed to repair all night, and finally restored all calls at 2:21 this morning.
Yesterday (23rd) at 5:36 in the evening, a total of 523 households in the area of Boai 2nd Road, Xiuming Street, and Zhisheng Road in Zuoying District lost power. In 4 minutes, power was restored to 224 households, and 98 households were still without power.
Taipower personnel rushed to repair it all night, and the last 98 households, including the well-known "Arong Seafood", were not restored to power until 2:21 this morning, and the power was out for almost 9 hours.
There are many restaurants in the Mingcheng business district, and the power outage happened to be Sunday evening meal time, so the restaurants could not open at all.
The owner of the "Pizzeria Napoli Pizzeria" complained that Taipower went out without warning. The customers who had eaten half of the meal had no lights or air-conditioning. The refrigerator is full of ingredients waiting to be broken and the dough will explode, and I have not yet had to appeal to the country for compensation. I am super dumbfounded.
Customers of "Ah Wing Seafood" are having fun while dining, turning on the flashlight of their mobile phones and eating with candles.
Taipower’s Kaohsiung District Sales Office stated that the cause of the power outage during preliminary investigations was an underground cable failure. Due to the underground cable failure and the burial of some manholes, the inspection and repair time was lengthened, and they will apologize to the stores one by one.
