During the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to slow down the offensive of the Russian occupying forces in the

Avdiyivka

region of the Donetsk region.

This is stated in a recent report of the Institute for the Study of War.

American analysts emphasize that on April 21, Russian troops continued to conduct offensive operations on the Avdiyivka-Donetsk front.

At the same time, referring to the data of the General Staff of Ukraine, the ISW reported that Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions 13 km north of Avdiyvka in the Novokalynovo, Stepovy and Kamianka districts and within 32 km southwest of Avdiyvka in the Pervomaisky district .

Geolocation footage for April 17 shows that Russian troops have probably made minor gains in Mariintka, located 27 km southwest of Avdiyivka.

A Russian military blogger claimed that Russian forces were also conducting offensive operations near Severny (6 km west of Avdiivka) and Avdiivka.

Another Russian "military officer" claimed that as of April 20, Ukrainian troops had slowed down the pace of Russia's offensive in the Avdiyivka area.
