[Reporter Chen Yun/Taipei Report] The Democratic Progressive Party began to implement the polls for the 2024 legislative nomination primary election this week, and today announced the results of the primary election polls for New Taipei City’s 1st constituency. The 7th constituency (Xinyi and Nansongshan) polls in Taipei City will continue tonight due to insufficient samples; the 4th constituency in Taoyuan City will also conduct polls tonight.

The Democratic Progressive Party started the 2024 Legislative Primary Election poll this week. Yesterday, it drew lots to determine the implementation of the 7th constituency of Taipei City (city councilor Xu Shuhua, Hong Jianyi), the 1st constituency of New Taipei City (former councilor He Bowen, assistant professor of Danish University Peng Lihui), announced today that He Bowen won the first constituency in New Taipei City.

Party insiders said that the 7th Constituent District of Taipei City, where the poll was conducted yesterday, continued today due to insufficient samples.

Both Xu Shuhua and Hong Jianyi have reminded voters of the "Primary Election Poll Extension" through Facebook and text messages, calling on supporters to go home at night to check their phones.

DPP spokesman Zhang Zhihao said that according to regulations, the polls for the primary election must complete 1,200 valid samples. The same situation happened in the primary election last year, and there was no way to complete it in one night.

The Democratic Progressive Party also drew lots today to determine the implementation of the polls for the primary election of Taoyuan City's 4th constituency.

There are three contestants in this constituency. They are former Taoyuan City Councilor Fan Gangxiang, former legislator Yu Wanru, and Xiao Liyan, who failed to challenge the councilor election last year.

The primary election of the legislators in the 7th constituency of Beishi is playing a prolongation. Hong Jianyi reminded voters through Facebook to call on supporters to stay on the phone at home.
