Currently, the water storage rate of the Baoer Reservoir is only about 39%, and the exposed gravel is clearly visible under the embankment ; and the smaller Baoshan Reservoir has only 30% left, and the loess in the border area is close to drying up, and even grass grows. The tight water situation makes the public worry!

Baoshan Reservoir and Baoer Reservoir are designed by China Unicom, and they mainly supply Hsinchu Science Park and Greater Hsinchu with water for people's livelihood.

According to the official website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the total capacity of Baoshan Reservoir is 5.47 million tons, and the current water storage capacity is 1.52 million tons. The water level is 133 meters, and the water storage rate is 30%. 134 meters, the water storage rate is about 39%.
