[Reporter Li Rongping/Taoyuan Report] A one-story house in Lane 88, Xinhua Street, Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, at 8:47 tonight, a suspected kitchen stove gas leak caused a gas explosion. At the time of the gas explosion, only the owner Wang The couple with the last name and their 7 children (3 girls and 4 boys) ranging in age from 1 to 14 years old, a family of 9 were frightened by the sudden gas explosion, escaped from the house urgently, and were taken by ambulance together. The medical examination showed that the owner surnamed Wang (50 years old) and two sons aged 14 and 12 were hospitalized for observation due to burns on their faces. The other 6 people returned home at night because they were fine after examination.
The Neili Branch of the No. 2 Brigade of the Taoyuan City Fire Department received a gas leak at night. A total of 34 firefighters, 9 fire trucks, and 7 ambulances were dispatched to rescue. When the firefighters arrived at 8:57 p.m., the house was gone. Huoyan immediately sent a family of 9 people who were frightened by the gas explosion to the hospital.
Among them, the owner of the house surnamed Wang suffered burns on his face, and his two sons each had pain in the head and right hand, dizziness, and 1% of the face was burned and scalded. They were hospitalized for observation and treatment.
Preliminary investigation by the police and firefighters found that the wife of the owner surnamed Wang, when she was about to turn on the stove to cook, smelled the stench of gas leakage. Fortunately, the burns were not life-threatening, and the exact cause of the burn is yet to be identified and investigated by fire investigators.
