Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Reddy's uncle has been arrested by the CBI.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested YS Bhaskar Reddy, uncle of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, in connection with the murder of former MP Vivekananda Reddy.

Vivekananda Reddy was the brother of late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy and uncle of the present Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

He was murdered at his residence in Pulivendula on the night of March 15, 2019, a few weeks before the state assembly elections.

He is being represented by his nephew in this constituency.

The case was initially investigated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state Criminal Investigation Department, but was handed over to the CBI in July 2020.

According to the CBI charge sheet, Vivekananda Reddy allegedly bought parliamentary election ticket for himself or Y S Sharmila (Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister) or Y S Vijayamma (Jagan Mohan Reddy's mother) instead of the outgoing Kadapa Lok Sabha candidate Avinash Reddy. were asking for

What was the matter? 


Vivekananda Reddy was the brother of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and uncle of current CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He was found dead on 15 March 2019 at his home in Pulivendula area.
