The celebration of Easter in Germany begins on Thursday.

It is called "Green Thursday", and green soups and sauces, spinach, parsley, onions are eaten on this day.

White sausage, rye soup, poppy seed roll and cheese pie are traditional dishes for Easter days in Poland.

Easter is a holiday of smoked meat and ham, the central place on the Easter table is occupied by white sausage.

It is unsmoked minced pork sausage in a natural casing, seasoned with salt, black pepper, garlic and marjoram.

Both in the traditional soup called "zhurek" and in the Easter basket, as a rule, there is boiled white sausage.

On Easter, "babka" (cake made of yeast dough) must be prepared: a traditional recipe for rich families recommended using at least 60 eggs for its preparation.

Rum syrup is sometimes added to babka or decorated with glaze, but traditional babka should not have any filling.

Even in Poland, mazurok is baked on Easter.

This flat cake is prepared from different types of dough and decorated with marmalade, chocolate glaze, dried fruits or nuts.

What is eaten on Easter in France

A traditional Easter dish is L'Agneau Pascal (Easter lamb).

The lamb symbolizes both Christ's sacrifice and the beginning of a new life.

What is eaten on Easter in Spain

All Spaniards love torrijas/torrijas - these are the familiar croutons soaked in sweet milk or wine with the addition of spices and honey and fried in olive oil. 

The Spanish Easter pastry is Mona de Pascua, a round cake decorated with colored feathers.

Each hostess decorates it as she wants, usually with chocolate figures, sweet balls, nuts or meringues.
