Guo Yaocheng, deputy director of the North Water Bureau, said that due to the lack of rainfall in recent days, the water storage rate has decreased. According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Bureau, the South China rain system will move in today, and it is estimated that there will be 50 to 100 mm of rainfall.
In addition, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Bureau, it will wait until the rainy season in late May. Currently, the Feicui Reservoir supports Banxin area with more than 800,000 tons of water per day, and the Shimen Reservoir supplies Hsinchu with about 170,000 to 180,000 tons per day. Guo Yaocheng said that according to the monitoring by the North Water Bureau in the morning, the clouds near the catchment area of Shimen Reservoir and Baoer Reservoir are relatively low, which is suitable for artificial rainfall enhancement. The Luofu area of the Shimen Reservoir also released a flame agent. This is the seventh time that Shimen has carried out artificial rainfall enhancement ground work this year, and the Baoer Reservoir is the fifth time this year.
