Russian troops continue ground attacks in and around Bakhmut.
But, despite the statement of the Russian side about the occupation of the city by 80%, ISW analysts did not confirm this.
In their estimation, the occupiers are in control
at least
76.5% Bakhmut.
This is stated in the report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on April 12.
They reminded that
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that fierce fighting was ongoing within Bakhmut and that Russian troops were conducting unsuccessful offensives near Khromovoy, 3 km west of Bakhmut, and Bohdanivka, 5 km northwest of Bakhmut.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that "Wagner's assault troops captured three unspecified city blocks in Bakhmut, and Russian paratroopers (VDV) squeezed Ukrainian forces on the Wagner's flanks."
Russian "militants" stated that "Wagner" fighters allegedly attacked Ukrainian positions on Petro Tchaikovsky Street in the southwest of Bakhmut and continued fighting in the northern, central and southwestern sectors of the city.
"Russian forces have visually confirmed the control of at least 76.5 percent of Bakhmut,
according to the control assessment of the ISW terrain from April 11
," - emphasized the specialists of the Institute for the Study of War.
The situation at the front
In
Bakhmut
in Donetsk region, the most difficult situation in the war zone has developed - Russia has concentrated the largest amount of forces and resources there.
They are trying to destroy high-rise buildings as much as possible so that the Armed Forces have no shelters.
As of April 11, fierce battles were taking place over the railway station.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, despite numerous losses in equipment and manpower, the Russian occupiers continue to focus their main efforts on conducting offensives
in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiiv, and Marin areas.
During the day, the Ukrainian military repelled more than 45 enemy attacks.
