More than 40% of Ukrainians in Poland, who left Ukraine because of the war, plan to stay abroad and not return home.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the international employment agency Gremi Personal.

Thus,

38%

of surveyed Ukrainians in Poland plan to stay in this country.

Another

7%

of Ukrainians plan to move from Poland to another country and settle their lives there.

55% want to return

to Ukraine.

Among them, 82% of Ukrainians who plan to return say that they will come to Ukraine after the victory.

8% are going home already this spring, 6% plan to return in the summer, and 4% - in the fall.

The agency noted that the mood of Ukrainians in Poland has changed significantly over the past six months.

In October 2022:

  • only 17% of respondents did not plan to return to Ukraine,

  • 22.4% planned to go home in the next 3 months,

  • 35% were preparing to stay in Poland for at least a year,

  • 25.6% planned to return home as soon as the war ended.

Thus,

the number of Ukrainians in Poland who do not plan to return home has doubled

in six months.

"This may indicate a number of factors. Some people no longer have a place to return to, mostly people from the East and South of Ukraine, whose homes were destroyed by the Russian occupiers. Many people have already adapted in Poland, got jobs and sent their children to Polish schools. Some women

have built a relationship with the Poles

and don't want to part anymore," says Anna Jobolda, director of Gremi Personal's recruitment department.

According to a March survey, only 10% of Ukrainians do not want to learn Polish, another 10% confirmed that they already have an almost perfect command of the language, 30% can communicate freely, and 50% are in the process of learning.

Poland has received the most Ukrainians among all countries since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

About 2 million Ukrainians live here.

We will remind you that the Institute of Demography warned that 2023 will be the year of a catastrophic fall in the birth rate in Ukraine.

According to demographers, by 2030 the population of Ukraine may decrease to 35 million.

The Institute of Demography also said that Ukraine is on the verge of losing the ethnic "foundation" of the nation.
