In the Kyiv region, a deputy of the village council will appear in court for causing a fatal road accident.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to the court against a deputy of one of the village councils for violating traffic rules, which led to the death of several people (Part 4 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

"The investigation established that on the evening of May 1, 2022, while under the influence of alcohol and drugs, the accused got behind the wheel of his car. Moving through the streets of the settlement, he collided with a moped traveling in the same direction. As a result of the traffic accident, the driver and the passenger of the moped died from her injuries at the scene of the accident," the regional prosecutor's office said.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the National Police Directorate in the Kyiv region.

It will be recalled that former People's Deputy Volodymyr Stretovych died in the accident.
