At least 30 people have been killed in central Myanmar when army units attacked participants in an anti-military junta event, Reuters reported, citing local media. 

The Burmese edition of the BBC, Radio Free Asia and the Irrawaddy news portal report that according to residents of the Sagain area, the victims are no less than 50, including both civilians and those involved in the attack. 

Reuters noted that it could not verify the reports from an independent source.
