Junior doctors in England today announced a four-day strike due to low wages, DPA reported.

The protests are expected to disrupt the operations of many health facilities in the country, with around 350,000 scheduled appointments for examinations and scheduled surgeries being cancelled, the agency said.

Doctors went outside the hospitals at 9 am (Bulgarian time) today and their protest is expected to continue until Saturday morning, writes BTA.

The strike, which began today, is the longest in a wave of protests in the medical sector that has swept Britain since last year, when nurses, emergency workers and other medical workers went on strike, the agency noted.
