The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) transferred another BGN 1,280,000 from the collected funds within the framework of a national campaign that was organized to help the victims of the earthquake on February 6 this year in Turkey and Syria, the organization announced.

Of the collected funds, BGN 960,000 are intended for Turkey.

According to the appeal of the International Committee of the Red Cross, BGN 320,000 was transferred to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, BTA specifies. 

The amount transferred so far for the two affected countries is nearly BGN 2,600,000.

The BRC provided humanitarian aid for nearly 310,000 euros to Syria and Turkey

In early February, the BRC allocated 5,000 Swiss francs to Syria from its Disaster, Accident and Crisis Fund.

On February 9, 2023, BGN 480,000 were transferred to Turkey and BGN 320,000 to Syria.

On February 15, 2023, BGN 600,000 was transferred to Turkey and BGN 400,000 to Syria.

The national campaign to help the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria continues.

Anyone who wishes to support the campaign can do so through a bank account published on the BCHK website, as well as online - through the BCHK website, or by sending an SMS worth one lev to the short number 1466 for all mobile operators.

The funds for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria are the largest financial resource that the BRC has provided so far, the organization added.

The BRC and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent would like to thank the thousands of individual and corporate Bulgarian donors for their trust and support.

In the strong earthquakes registered on February 6 and 7, 2023 on the border between Turkey and Syria, more than 50 thousand people died.
