[Reporter Li Lifa/Pingtung Report] The Coast Guard intercepted a suspicious fishing boat off the coast of Fangliao, Pingtung County on the 3rd, and seized 12 Vietnamese men and women in the cabin who were trying to smuggle into Taiwan. The captain surnamed Guo and the accomplice surnamed Yeh are suspected of violating the entry, exit and immigration laws, and there is a risk of collusion and destruction of evidence. Yesterday, the Pingtung District Court charged the two people and was approved.

On the evening of the 3rd, the Headquarters of the 8th Patrol Area of the Coast Guard found a suspicious fishing boat on the radar about 2 miles away from the Dingliao River in Pingtung. It immediately dispatched the patrol boat of the Hengchun Coast Guard to report it at 9:20 p.m. The fishing boat was stopped and inspected. After the investigation of the screen inspection, it was learned that the captain surnamed Guo and the crew surnamed Yeh were seeking remuneration ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 yuan each. They were suspected to be in contact with smugglers and drove a fishing boat to pick up 12 people who went to sea from Fujian, China. Fortunately, the Vietnamese smuggling suspects were intercepted and seized in time. All 12 of them were negative after rapid screening, and they were handed over to the Immigration Department for custody after interrogation.

The prosecution believes that Guo and Ye are suspected of major crimes of entering and leaving the country and immigration law. In addition, there have been suspected smuggling corpses in the waters of Taiwan recently. Fearing that his evidence would be destroyed, he applied to the Pingtung District Court for detention, and the judge ruled yesterday that he should be detained without seeing him.
