Zhang Dunhan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Presidential Office, believed in the interview that it is indeed a rare opportunity for President Tsai to have face-to-face communication with Speaker McCarthy, which shows that we are seeking practical diplomacy in a stable manner.

Zhang said that the president will make a public statement, and the two will also openly face the media and the general public.

Groups including the Taiwanese Public Affairs Association and the Taiwan Hakka Association in Southern California shouted "Hello President, Hello President, Xiaoying Xiaoying, I love you." They also came forward to shake hands and say hello.

On the other hand, China mobilized its expats to shout "Taiwan belongs to China" and "oppose Taiwan independence".

However, there were also Chinese people who opposed the Chinese regime present, holding high the words "Strong President Xiaoying, the mainland people love you too" and "Welcome President Tsai Ing-wen, the mainland Chinese welcome you" to cheer for President Tsai.
