APPROXIMATELY Sh 93.09 billion has been provided by the Government for the development of the construction of the Kigongo-Busisi (Mwanza) bridge which has reached 63 percent.

This was said by the Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa while presenting the review and direction of the government's work and the estimated income and expenditure of the Prime Minister's Office and the Office of the Parliament for the year 2023/2024.

Speaking in parliament in Dodoma today, Majaliwa said that the completion of the bridge will reduce the time it takes people to cross the Kigongo - Busisi area from 2 hours to 4 minutes by car and 10 minutes for pedestrians.

Majaliwa said that the bridge will be able to pass all types of vehicles at all times and carry a weight of up to 160 tons.
