The Russian Federation continues to promote a campaign to fill Europe with spies.

This is reported by

 Politico.

According to the publication, Moscow wants to revive the previous power of its military intelligence.

Today, there is increasing evidence that the Foreign Intelligence Service is aggressively trying to rebuild its espionage network.

In particular, the Kremlin needs it in view of the West's military aid to Kyiv.

"After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 400 pro-Kremlin spies were detained or deported in Europe. They were not only directly engaged in their activities for the benefit of Russia, but also recruiting local residents to their ranks," the report states.

As an example, the publication cites that in Finland, the group of Russians in the country has halved in a year.

So-called undercover diplomats were also sent, and visas were not given to those who were supposed to replace these agents.

"An important goal for the Russians is to collect information about Europe's critical infrastructure. And the priority is to monitor the production and supply of Western weapons to Ukraine, says the director of the State Security Department of Lithuania, Darius Jauniškis," the message says.

In addition, Politico adds that the series of arrests of Russian spies in Europe is evidence of Moscow's determination to gather as much information as possible about NATO's defense facilities and military plans.

It should be noted that Poland is actively discussing the topic of creating a special fund to collect money for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
