In Brovary, Kyiv region,

rabies

was detected in a domestic kitten purchased over the Internet, the animal was not vaccinated.

As a result, the owner and his family were hospitalized, as well as the veterinarian who examined the kitten.

This was reported by the local publication "Tribune - Brovary".    

Quarantine has been announced in Brovary and neighboring communities for two months.

A total of five contact persons have been established.

The kitten died a day later.

The victims are currently hospitalized and receiving the necessary assistance. 

Because of rabies, a two-month quarantine was imposed on Brovary, the villages of Knyazhychi, Trebuhiv, Peremozhets, as well as the following settlements:

  • Kalynivska TG – the village of Kalynivka, village

    Kvitneve, Victory, p.

    Krasylivka, village

    Skybyn;

  • Velyka Dymerka TG - the village of Velyka Dymerka.

During the quarantine, it is prohibited to hold exhibitions, breeding, taking dogs, cats and wild animals outside the quarantine limits, industrial and licensed shooting of wild animals, their capture and export.

Experts recommend vaccinating all pets.

Vaccination for animals is free.
