The first two days after the new system was launched, 6 police stations of the Tainan City Government established a total number of technology-enforced intersections. 155 violations were detected.

The Police Department reminds the public to establish correct road usage habits. It will continue to evaluate the technology enforcement equipment at accident-prone intersections and places near schools. Before the end of September this year, technology law enforcement equipment will be activated at 3 accident-prone intersections with "flashing red signs" to ban vehicles. Driving without stopping will also strengthen police patrols and inspections to maintain traffic safety at intersections.

It was the first consecutive holiday after the new system was launched, and there were crowds of people sweeping graves and traveling in various districts of Tainan.

In December last year in Tainan City, there were 6 intersections (the intersection of Gongyuan Road and Gongyuan South Road in the North District, the intersection of Hewei Road and Haian Road in the North District, the intersection of Nanmen Road and Jiankang Road in the West Central District, the intersection of Fuqian Road and Ximen Road in the West Central District, and the intersection of Zhonghua East Road in the East District. and Chongming intersection, Xinhua District Zhongzheng Road and Zhongshan intersection) to activate the "vehicles not polite to pedestrians" technology law enforcement equipment.

A total of 155 cases of violations were detected in the first two days after the new system was launched.

The police station expects to stop traffic accidents at three intersections with flashing red flags before the end of September this year (the intersection of Zhongcheng Road and Ciyin Street in the Central and Western District, the intersection of Lane 1092 and Lane 17, Lane 1074, Gongyuan Road, North District, and 41, Section 2, Zhonghua East Road, East District. The implementation of the new system this time increases penalties for cars failing to give way to pedestrians, and non-signatured intersections failing to stop and yield according to regulations.

Cars passing through pedestrian crossings and turning will not be suspended to give priority to pedestrians. The current penalty for small cars is 2,000 yuan, and that of large vehicles is 2,800 yuan. The penalty will be increased to 3,600 yuan (motorcycles will maintain 1,200 yuan). People with visual impairments with guide dogs will pass first. Small vehicles will be fined from 3,600 yuan to 4,800 yuan, and large vehicles will be fined from 4,500 yuan to 7,200 yuan (motorcycles will remain at 2,400 yuan).

"Safety at non-signatured intersections" If the vehicle on the branch lane does not let the main lane vehicle go ahead; the vehicle on the few lanes does not allow the multi-lane vehicle to go first; or when the number of lanes is the same, the vehicle on the left does not allow the vehicle on the right to go ahead; or At unsigned intersections and roadways, if you do not follow the regulations or signs and markings, the current penalty will be increased from 600 yuan to 1,200 yuan for locomotives, 1,500 yuan for small vehicles, and 1,800 yuan for large vehicles.

In addition, if the driver fails to stop at the flashing red light and then drives again, the current penalty of 900 yuan will be increased to 1,200 yuan for locomotives, 1,500 yuan for small vehicles, and 1,800 yuan for large vehicles.

From March 31, the penalties for car drivers who fail to give way to pedestrians and non-signatured intersections will be increased.
