The Gainsbourg Museum, home of the famous French artist Serge Gainsbourg, will open its doors in Paris in September, AFP reported, citing a statement by Serge's daughter, actress Charlotte Gainsbourg.

This is the end of the "epic" surrounding the home of Serge Gainsbourg, which lasted more than 30 years.

After the artist's death, fans flock to the place where he lived.

The space inhabited by Gainsbourg was photographed during the artist's lifetime while he was still living with actress and singer Jane Birkin.

Actress Charlotte Gainsbourg has officially announced that she will open "Dom Gainsbourg" on September 20.

The Louvre is closing its doors

Serge Gainsbourg lived a total of 22 years at the address in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.

The interior remained intact after his death in 1991. The date of the declaration of his home as a museum was not chosen by chance - April 2 marks the 95th anniversary of his birth.

For the first ten years after his death I was sure about the project, then I gave up because it was the little I had left of him and I wanted to keep it as a treasure, Charlotte Gainsbourg said in 2021 on the 30th anniversary of his death her father, notes BTA.
