The President of Moldova,

Maya Sandu

, said that her country is capable of achieving energy independence from the aggressor Russia in two years.

The head of state said this on the Moldova 1 channel.

According to her, in matters of gas supply, Moldova is already "practically independent" from Moscow.

Sandu noted that complete energy independence from Russia will become possible in two years, when the construction of the Chisinau-Vulkanest power transmission line will be completed.

This line will connect the energy systems of Moldova and Romania.

The president emphasized that investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency are important for Chisinau.

This will contribute to the strengthening of the levers of regulation of the Transnistrian conflict.

"I think that from the energy side, the fact that we are increasing this independence and at some point we will stop depending on the Russian Federation at all increases our leverage, in particular in this process of settling the Transnistrian conflict," President Sandu said.

It will be recalled that the President of Moldova previously stated that

the Kremlin is trying with all its might to change the government in her country

to a pro-Russian one in order to use the country as a springboard in the war against Ukraine, as the Kremlin is currently using Belarus.

The authorities have evidence of how the Russian special services planned to overthrow the current government in Moldova.
