NASA's Perseverance rover has collected and stored the first surface rock sample as part of a new scientific campaign.

APA reports that NASA has released information about this.

There are a total of 43 titanium test vessels on board the rover.

Two samples are taken from the rock or core at a time.

The rover is currently exploring the upper delta of the Yozer River crater.

It is noted that, according to the scientific team, the apparatus collected samples from rocks transported down the ancient river.
