Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani inaugurated the Karbala oil refinery, which has a production capacity of 140,000 barrels per day, the prime minister's office said today, as quoted by Reuters.

In January, a refinery source said commercial production would begin on a trial basis at 60 percent capacity.

According to him, Iraq wants the site to work at full capacity by July.

Meanwhile, Iraq's oil ministry said March oil exports averaged 3.255 million barrels per day, Reuters noted.

In the previous month, Iraq exported 3.295 million barrels per day, BTA reported.

Iraq's March revenue totaled $7.4 billion at an average price of $73.37 a barrel, the Iraqi ministry said in a statement.
