[Reporter Huang Mingtang/Taitung Report] The egg shortage in Taiwan has caused large fluctuations in egg prices. It also coincides with the Qingming holiday, and the demand for eggs has increased. In conjunction with the Fa Research Station, we visited several egg tray vendors in the county to understand the current market supply, demand and prices.

The county government stated that the current market situation is still normal as a result of the inspection.

The Taitung County Government stated that the supply in Taitung area is still stable at present. The general price of white eggs supplied by dealers is 1,200 to 1,400 yuan per box, and the retail price is 75 to 90 yuan per catty. In the normal range, there should be no illegal hoarding or joint price-raising, and the county government has not received any complaints from the public recently, and will continue to conduct irregular inspections in the future to protect consumer rights.
