Section-144 has been imposed by the district administration in the area following the communal violence during the Ram Navami procession in Biharsharif (headquarters) of Nalanda district of Bihar.

Along with this, action is being taken by the police by identifying the criminal elements on the basis of the video related to the incident.

In this regard, tweeting from the official Twitter handle of Bihar Police, it has been said that efforts are being made by the local police and administration to maintain law and order with the available forces and officials.

District Magistrate and SP are present at the spot.

Top officials have also reached. 

The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police are present at the spot.

Inspector General of Police, Patna and Commissioner, Patna have reached the spot for Nalanda.

Keeping the situation under control, all measures are being taken for peace and order.

It was told by the police that the information about the injuries of 03 people is coming in Nalanda.

He is being given better treatment.

Presently his health condition is reported to be stable.

Along with this, the police has appealed to the general public not to pay attention to any kind of rumours.

Cooperate with the local administration.

In case of any difficulty inform the police.  

Significantly, there was violence during the procession of Ram Navami in Gagan Diwan locality of Biharsharif.

There was fierce firing and stone pelting between the two groups.

Before this, vandalism and arson also took place in vehicles and shops.

There is also news of looting in shops.

According to the local people, three people were shot in the incident.

While about 14 people have been injured in the blockade.

One of the three injured in the firing is being treated at Patna Medical College Hospital, the other at Vardhaman Medical College, Pawapuri and one injured person at Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital.
