A total of eight people have been detained in connection with the bomb threats against schools during the week.

This was announced by the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Petar Todorov.

Three people were detained in Plovdiv today.

Two of them are minors.

According to Petar Todorov, it has been established that the boys have sent numerous e-mails to various institutions and schools with threatening content since Wednesday.

In the 6 RU in the city there is also a third detained for a threatening message to a school in Plovdiv.

The man is an adult and has a criminal record, explained the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Besides the two 17-year-olds detained in Sofia yesterday, there are three more cases in the country, usually minors.

A total of 8 persons have been detained," Petar Todorov said.  

In the case of the two minors from Plovdiv, the investigation so far indicates that on March 31, 2023, messages were sent to several public email addresses and to the GDBOP email about the placement of explosive devices in all schools in Plovdiv, Yambol, Sofia and Burgas, reports Nova TV .

Data was requested from an English company from whose servers the threatening email was sent.

It was found that the mailbox was created a few hours before the email was sent.

This afternoon, the special police first detained a 16-year-old youth, and a little later his friend was also detained, with whom they had been sending e-mails and creating a Telegram channel.
