The district prosecutor's office in Plovdiv charged and detained a 23-year-old man who filed a false report about a bomb planted in a school in Plovdiv, the state prosecution reports. 

According to the prosecutor's office, it was established that on March 30, B.T.

from a street phone booth, he gave a false alarm to 112 about a planted explosive device - a bomb in PGTST "Gotse Delchev", the city of Plovdiv.

A police patrol car was immediately dispatched and secured the scene.

The students, teachers and staff at the school were evacuated.

During the inspection, no explosive device was found in the building.

The accused B.T.

is detained for up to 72 hours by decree of the supervising prosecutor.

Actions on the investigation are ongoing.

The prosecutor's office in Plovdiv has also established that two children - boys aged 15, students in the 9th grade at a school in the city, on 27.03.2023 and on 31.03.

2023, have sent letters by e-mail to the official e-mails of GDBOP., Sofia, as well as to two media - an information site and television.

In these messages, they wrote that explosive devices are about to be placed in various schools in Plovdiv and in other cities of the country.

The letters were sent from e-mail registered with a provider of electronic communication services outside the territory of Bulgaria.  

At the moment, active actions are being carried out on the investigation under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office-Plovdiv.

No connection has been established between the two cases.
