China has said that it maintains communication with India through diplomatic and military channels.

Kolkata:

Amid tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), China has said that its "comprehensive bilateral relations" with India are coming back on track.

Chen Jianjun, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in India, said this in a meeting organized in Kolkata.

He said that, "China and India are working quite well together on some multi-national occasions."

Referring to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the G20 grouping, he said, "Whether it is the SCO or the G20 summit, the President and the Prime Minister also met on the sidelines of the Bali summit. I think they had a great conversation. We can see the momentum coming back." Very happy."

The senior Chinese diplomat said that the earlier 'emergency control' situation on the India-China border has become a thing of the past and is by and large stable at the moment.

Chen Jianjun, deputy consul of the Chinese embassy, told reporters that the two Asian giants were maintaining contact through diplomatic and military channels and promoting the transition of the border situation to "normal management and control".

He said, 'The current border situation is overall stable.'

Indian and Chinese troops clashed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang sector on December 9, resulting in minor injuries to some personnel on both sides.

In eastern Ladakh, there was a clash near Yangtse in the sensitive sector amid the border standoff between the two sides.

Relations between India and China took a nosedive after the fierce clashes in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, which saw the most serious military conflict between the two neighbors in decades.

Jianjun said, 'The Chinese side has always considered and carried out China-India relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.

Although there are some difficulties in the relationship, China's position will never waver, and we are committed to taking it back to the path of healthy and stable development.

He said both countries can draw strength from their ancient civilizations and share oriental wisdom with the world, so as to jointly maintain the stability of the international order.

He said, 'In this world associated with change and chaos, China and India can raise their voice for more institutional rights of developing countries.

The two countries working together will affect the future of Asia and things beyond.

Jianjun said that India's success as the chairman of G20 and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has China's full support.

He said, "We believe that China and India can find a way of peace and development together for neighboring countries, so as to realize the 'Asian Century'."
