"We will send our military to protect Moscow from the imperialists," the commander of the Ugandan Ground Forces, Lt. Gen. Muhuzi Kainerugaba, said on Twitter.

"If you want to call me a Putinist, but we Ugandans will send our soldiers to guard Moscow if the Russian capital is threatened by the imperialists," the lieutenant general wrote on the microblogging system.

"Muhuzi Kainerugaba is the son of the president of the East African country, Yoweri Museveni. In October 2022, the lieutenant general threatened that his country's army could capture the capital of neighboring Kenya - Nairobi - in two weeks. Then the father had to apologize for the words to his son," wrote the Israeli media Mnews.

"The Ugandan army numbers 50,000 in a population of 45 million. It has participated in three wars on the Black Continent: Against Tanzania (1978-1979, which led to the fall of Ugandan dictator Idi Amin from power) and the two Congolese (1996- 1997 and 1998 – 2003 finished without a winner)," the publication added.
