[Reporter Lin Xinhan/Taipei Report] Democratic Progressive Party legislators Chen Ying and Wu Lihua held a press conference today to speak out for the hunter surnamed Lin who attacked the baboons in East Africa. Leofoo Village, Taoyuan City Government, and Hsinchu County Government blamed the blame. Leofoo Village also insisted on suing the hunters. Enterprises will no longer take children to consume, and request to close the Leofoo Village Zoo area until it improves.

"The big consortium bullies the little hunter!" Chen Ying said that the entire case has entered the judicial process, and the investigation will clarify whether it was an order from the veterinarian of Leofoo Village. "Litigation" is used to divert the focus of its own "management negligence". Leofoo Village is using "litigation" as a "fig leaf", so today it will stand up and hold a press conference to speak out for the hunters.

Chen Ying said that Leofoo Village should have known for a long time that the baboons were animals that escaped from their home. They thought they could just catch them and bring them back. Unexpectedly, the baboon died unexpectedly in the process. The care and management has serious negligence. The Forest Service should thoroughly investigate whether Leofoo Village has already known about the loss of baboons, investigate how many animals are still wandering outside, and require Leofoo Village to report the number of all animals every week.

Wu Lihua also said that the next day after the incident, the family of Hunter Lin called to ask for help from a lawyer, because the facts that Hunter understood were different from what the media saw in various units. Hunters with the surname of the public have already cast blame on Leofoo Village, which has caused great physical and mental pressure and trauma. This arrest also highlights that the government units do not have good SOPs and professional skills, and must pay attention to and strengthen improvements.

Lin Haozhen, deputy director of the Forestry Bureau, said that today, together with Zhu County Government, primate care experts from Beishi Zoo, university professors, etc., they went to Liufu Village to inspect the relevant deficiencies and seek improvement plans. The follow-up results will be explained to the outside world; The part of the Animal Conservation Act will also be reviewed again to increase the liability of employers and fines, so as to make the management of wild animals more complete.

Lin Haozhen mentioned that 3 years ago, the local government had already followed the SOP for handling escaped wild animals, and a rolling review will be carried out in the future, and experts from local governments and related units will be invited to discuss and expand the capacity of wild animal conservation.

As for whether they will cooperate with the hunters in the future, Lin Mozhen said that the hunters have assisted the Forest Service in removing alien species, and they have maintained a certain degree of trust and cooperation with each other, and the related work depends on their assistance and will not stop.
