The meeting of the UN Security Council, convened due to Putin's threats to place nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, ended in New York.

This time, not only Ukraine's traditional allies have expressed a warning against it, but China has also emphasized that the placement of nuclear weapons outside its sovereign borders is unacceptable.

This was reported by

TSN's

own correspondent Olga Koshelenko.

As you know, one of the reasons for such actions, according to Russian propaganda and Russian officials, was the promise of Great Britain to provide Ukraine with armor-piercing shells containing depleted uranium.

Today,

Russian ambassador to the UN, Vasyl Nebenzia,

once again repeated the nonsense that such shells pollute the environment.

The representatives of Great Britain and the USA at the UN once again debunked this lie - such shells are simply more powerful, but have nothing to do with either nuclear weapons or the dirty bomb that Russian propaganda used to frighten.

Russia was reminded that it is Russia that has been violating a number of agreements on non-proliferation and reduction of strategic weapons for a long time.

And today, during the meeting, the phrase "nuclear blackmail" was often used to refer to Russia.

As for the actual actions of the Kremlin, as

White House strategic communications advisor John Kirby previously stated in a comment,

the US does not see any changes in Russia's nuclear status.

That is, statements about nuclear weapons in Belarus currently remain only threats.

At the same time, the US representative at the UN clearly emphasized today that any use of nuclear weapons by Russia will fundamentally change the nature of the war in Ukraine.

"Any use of nuclear weapons will have serious consequences for international peace and security and will fundamentally change the nature of this war... We also call on the Lukashenko regime to end its complicity in Russia's war against Ukraine.

And once again we call on Russia to de-escalate, starting with the cessation of its aggressive war against Ukraine," said

US Ambassador to the UN Robert Wood.

If such statements are expected from most countries, the position of China, which takes a distinctly pro-Russian position, was categorical today.

However, at the same time, China did not avoid praising itself - they say that they are the only ones that do not place nuclear weapons outside their state borders.

However, he clearly called on all nuclear powers to reduce the risk of nuclear war, to reduce nuclear weapons until their complete destruction.

The representative of Russia had to emphasize that they only plan to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus, saying that the Lukashenka regime will not have any control over them.

Serhiy Kyslytsia, Ukraine's post-envoy to the UN

, reminded that Russia violated the agreements on nuclear weapons with almost its only and main partner, China, when the ink under the document had not yet dried.

"To the credit of the Chinese side, it very wisely reminded Moscow that a nuclear war cannot be won and should not be started.

And that the proliferation of nuclear weapons must be prevented," he said.

It will be recalled that the Belarusian dictator Oleksandr Lukashenko said that Belarus can deploy nuclear weapons "if necessary."

He emphasized that "he will stop at nothing.
