New Delhi:

In the criminal defamation case regarding the Modi surname, Rahul Gandhi has been sentenced to two years and has also lost the membership of the Lok Sabha.

Regarding this matter where BJP is an attacker on Congress and Rahul Gandhi.

At the same time, the Congress is calling it a threat to democracy.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has termed Rahul Gandhi's disqualification as part of a larger conspiracy.

Ashok Gehlot said these things in a special conversation with NDTV.

Gehlot said, 'BJP is accusing Rahul Gandhi that he humiliated the OBC community by using the Modi surname.

But Sonia and Rahul have made an OBC the CM of Rajasthan for the third time.

Targeting the central government, he alleged that Rahul's membership has been terminated through a conspiracy.

Gehlot said, "Rahul Gandhi's membership of Parliament has been terminated... This has been done through a conspiracy."

Gehlot said- 'Rahul Gandhi got popularity in Bharat Jodo Yatra.

When this journey was successful, only then this conspiracy had started against him.

Otherwise, there was no reason why BJP would pressurize Rahul Gandhi to apologise.

The BJP did not even allow him to speak in the House.

According to the rules, Rahul Gandhi should have been given a chance to answer at least once in Parliament regarding the allegations leveled against him.

If BJP was not satisfied with Rahul's answer, then he could have asked for an apology.

But this was not done.

Ashok Gehlot said, 'Not giving permission to Rahul Gandhi to speak in the House was also a conspiracy.

Regarding this whole development, I understand that Rahul Gandhi is not going to lose anything.

As he has already said that he will remain the voice of the country, whether he is in the Parliament or not.

Gehlot said that no one knows in which direction the country is going and where it is going.

He said, "How are you treating Rahul Gandhi whose father and grandmother were martyred for the country? You are not allowing him to speak in Parliament."

The punishment was announced on March 23.

In the criminal case of 'Modi surname', the court of Surat had sentenced Rahul Gandhi to 2 years imprisonment at 12.30 pm on Thursday.

However, he got bail after 27 minutes.

A day later it was canceled at around 2.30 pm.

He was a member of the Lok Sabha from Wayanad, Kerala.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat has given information about this by issuing a letter.

Rahul's name has also been removed from the website of the Lok Sabha.

The Supreme Court had said in its judgment on 11 July 2013 that any MP or MLA would be disqualified for membership of Parliament or Legislative Assembly from the date of conviction in the lower court.

The court had given this order in the case of Lily Thomas vs. Government of India.

Earlier, there was a provision not to terminate the membership of MLA or MP till the final decision of the court.

Here, about 3 hours after the verdict, Rahul tweeted, 'I am fighting for the voice of India, I am ready to pay any cost'.
