The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, attends the plenary session of the National Council of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, which evaluates the economic context of the country and the challenges of the organization to contribute to transform the current scenario, reports the Presidency on its Twitter account.

The appointment is made with the purpose of checking compliance with the agreements approved in the previous meeting, presenting the management report of the CTC Secretariat during the period, strengthening the structure and launching the call for the celebration in Cuba of the 1st of May, International Workers' Day.

It is worth noting the participation of the organization in the electoral process, whose decisive moment took place during the elections on March 26, at the head of the National Candidacy Commission.

Five of its leaders were ratified as deputies to the National Assembly of Popular Power, through the free, equal, direct and secret vote of the majority of Cubans.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the union organization, was also attended by members of the Political Bureau of the Roberto Morales Ojeda Party, Secretary of Organization, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, General Secretary of the CTC, as well as other members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party, and representatives of the highest leadership of the country.
