A heartbroken mother has spoken of her son's tragic death just hours after playing in a British park.

A woman named Catherine Brumfitt said that little Albie, who was just two years old, did not wake up the next morning after she took him to a local park the day before.

The tragedy occurred on May 29, 2021, writes liverpoolecho.co.uk.

She and her other children were suffering from a viral infection when Albie fell ill too.

Catherine put the baby to bed with brothers Jenson and Caleb, believing that the worst was over.

Unfortunately, when she went to check on him, she found the boy unresponsive.

The woman desperately tried to perform CPR, but it was too late.

She later learned that Albie had died of bronchopneumonia, which causes inflammation of the lungs.

"He was so happy and cheeky, a typical two-year-old boy. He was wonderful. Albie was a famous kid in the area, everyone loved him," the woman shared.

Because of the tragedy, Catherine and her children moved to another house.
