The plans of the Russian military command to mobilize another 400,000 people into the army are unrealistic.

Russians themselves understand how difficult it is to study and provide everything necessary for so many people.

This opinion was expressed in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua by military observer, reserve major and veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war

Oleksiy Hetman

.

"It's difficult for them to raise 400,000, no matter what they say. There is even a domestic issue - where to keep these people, what to feed them, what to wear. Not to mention the weapons that they should get. They also have certain issues with means of protection. And the main thing is that in order for these people to turn into a military unit, there must be many services that directly provide combat operations. Each military unit is not only infantry, it is a weapon service, a material service, it is a lot of structures that turn people with weapons into military unit. In addition, they need, in particular, commanders of the primary link - the platoon-company division. These should be specialists, not people from the street," explained the military expert.

According to him, if the Russians want to "just recruit people and give them weapons, it will not be an army, but a gang."

"I am sure that the Russians also understand this. They will not even have a meaningful connection. They will be brought, placed, they will not know where to shoot, where to run. Therefore, it seems to me that it will be difficult for the Russians to make a full-fledged military out of 400 thousand unit. In addition, there are massive numbers of people evading the draft. They will hide, flee to other countries. Another question is whether the Russians will be able to catch these 400,000 - this is a very large number," Hetman said.

It will be recalled that the British military intelligence reported on March 30 that the Russian authorities are preparing to launch a major campaign to recruit an additional 400,000 soldiers into the army.

The Russian Federation positions this campaign as a recruitment of volunteers, but there is a real possibility that Russians will be forced to join the army, according to intelligence.

As part of the first wave of mobilization in the Russian Federation in the fall of 2022, 300,000 people were drafted into the ranks of the Russian army, according to the Kremlin.

In November, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the end of mobilization in the Russian Federation, but he did not sign a separate decree about it.

According to experts, a covert mobilization took place in Russia after that.

In particular, subpoenas were sent to Russians under the guise of "certification of credentials."

At the same time, Russian media were prohibited from spreading any statements about mobilization, even if they come from the State Duma or the Federation Council.
