Yeddyurappa claimed that Congress will not get more than 70 seats in Karnataka assembly elections 2023.

Leading the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) election campaign for the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023, former Chief Minister of the state B.S.

Yediyurappa on Thursday indicated that Congress veteran and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be pitted against his son B.Y.

Vijayendra can contest elections.

Siddaramaiah has been fielded by his party from Varuna seat in Mysore, from where his son Yathindra is currently the MLA.

With the elections round the corner, B.S.

Yediyurappa told that from Varuna assembly seat B.Y.

Discussions are going on at the highest level on giving ticket to Vijayendra.

In an emergency press conference the day after the Central Election Commission announced the schedule for the assembly elections, B.S.

Yeddyurappa gave this information.

The veteran BJP leader said, "Reservation quota for Lingayats and other communities is just... No injustice has been done to Muslims as well... Now they will get reservation under Economically Weaker Sections... "

He claimed that the Congress would not be able to win more than 70 seats in the 224-seat Karnataka assembly in this election.

Recently, the Basavaraj Bommai government of the state had recommended to the central government to redistribute the reservation given in the state, after which B.S.

Yeddyurappa had to face opposition.

Thousands of people belonging to Banjaras and other backward classes pelted stones at his house in Shivamogga.

In fact, last week the state cabinet had also increased the reservation for Scheduled Castes in education and jobs from 15 per cent to 17 per cent, and also introduced internal quota.
