The US GOVERNMENT has promised to provide an amount of Sh 1.17 trillion (US$ 500 million) through the EXIM Bank of the United States to enable the transport sector, digital technology infrastructure and clean energy to develop the country's economy.

This was said today March 30, 2023 at the White House in Dar es Salaam and the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris has said that one of the areas that they have discussed with President Samia Suluhu Hassan is to strengthen cooperation and launch a new cooperation on 5G technology in Internet security.

"In order to achieve that, I am happy to announce new plans, one of which the United States will enter into an agreement with Tanzania of 500 million US dollars to facilitate the promotion of trade between the United States and Tanzania.

He said, the goal of working together is to increase economic investment in Tanania and strengthen the economic relationship of both parties.

Kamala has said, in terms of economic growth, the issue of good governance, stability and friendly laws, are what attract businessmen to invest. Also, in terms of minerals, he said they expect to build a large factory in this country for the refining of minerals used in car batteries.
