US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre urged Americans to immediately leave Russia and not to travel to this country.

This happened due to the arrest of The Wall Street Journal journalist Evan Hershkovich.

This is stated in the official statements of Blinken and Karin Jean-Pierre.

Anthony Blinken noted that his office is in contact with the editors of The Wall Street Journal and is doing everything possible to help the journalist detained by the Putin regime.

Vina also condemned the detention of a media representative.

The Secretary of State reminded that the USA does not recommend its citizens to stay in Russia and called on Americans to leave this country immediately.

The spokeswoman of the White House made a similar statement.

"I want to emphasize once again that Americans should heed the warning of the US government not to travel to Russia. US citizens living in or traveling to the Russian Federation should leave immediately, as the State Department once again recommends," said Karin Jean-Pierre .

It will be recalled that Russian propaganda publications reported that in Yekaterinburg the employees of the Federal Security Service

detained the journalist of The Wall Street Journal, Evan Hershkovich.

The media representative is accused of "espionage".

In the city, he wrote an article about the attitude of Russians to the "Wagner" PMC.

The American daily newspaper The Wall Street Journal demands in Russia to release the journalist of the publication Evan Hershkovich.
