This year, it participated in the GO SMART Award international competition hosted by the Global Smart City Alliance. It stood out among 43 projects from 11 countries and won the 2023 Annual Excellence Award. The Bureau of Transportation emphasizes that in the future, it will continue to accelerate the expansion and promotion through the construction of rail transportation such as MRT and light rail, as well as policies such as electric buses and shared vehicles, so as to significantly reduce transportation carbon emissions and move towards a net-zero sustainable city.

According to the city government, the MeNGo project is the first case in Asia to successfully promote transportation as a service (MaaS), providing convenient, friendly and preferential transportation service solutions, encouraging the use of private transportation to change to public transportation, reducing urban carbon emissions, and at the same time Improve traffic safety and increase the efficiency of public transportation.

Director of Transportation Zhang Shujuan said that Kaohsiung has the most diverse means of transportation in Taiwan, and is also the first city to complete the digitalization of public transportation. After the launch of the MeNGo2.0 plan, all public transportation has been introduced into the mobile payment function plan, including the light rail , ferries, MRT, buses, youbike2.0, etc. In the future, it will be the only platform for commuting commuter tickets in counties and cities such as Tainan and Pingtung under the "Central Promotion of Public Transportation Utilization Program" project of the Ministry of Communications.

The Bureau of Transportation pointed out that Gaoshi will launch a commuting monthly pass plan of 399 yuan in April, including unlimited use of Gaoshi MRT, buses, light rail, ferries and public bicycles. The monthly ticket plan will be included in the Kaohsiung section of the Taiwan Railway, and a total of 999 yuan monthly commuter ticket plan will be launched for the entire South Kaohsiung District to provide convenient commuting services in the living area and reduce the transportation burden of people in the southern region.
