In January of this year, the "Star Refinery" oil refinery (NEZ) built by SOCAR on the Aliaga Peninsula of Turkey imported 966,668,636 tons of oil and oil products, which is 26% more than the previous year.

According to the information provided by "APA-Economics" with reference to the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), in January 2022, the plant imported 767,385,504 tons of oil.

According to the information, during the reporting period, the refinery exported 415,313,019 tons of oil products, which is almost 11 times more than the previous year.

It should be added that the indicated indicator was at the level of 38,253,628 tons in 2022.

It should be noted that the main products of the refinery are diesel fuel, jet fuel, naphtha, liquid petroleum gas, mixed xylene, petroleum coke.

The plant is located on the Aliaga Peninsula, which is of strategic importance in terms of transportation.

Along with the "Star" oil refinery on the Aliaga Peninsula, SOCAR's "Petkim" petrochemical complex, wind power plant and SOCAR Terminal, which is the largest port of the Aegean Sea, operate within the framework of a single infrastructure and value chain.
