[Reporter Su Jinfeng/Report from Taichung] Taichung MRT Corporation held a board meeting today (30th) and approved Lin Liangtai, a distinguished professor of Feng Chia University, as acting chairman.

Lin Liangtai, former director of the Taichung City Transportation Bureau, said that Zhongjie should be the main transportation backbone in Taichung. The monthly traffic pass in the central area is expected to be on the road in July. and food and accommodation travel shopping needs, and create urban business opportunities.

Lin Zhiying, the former chairman of Zhongjie Company, has stepped down as the chairman of Zhongjie Company because he took over the chairman of Easycard Investment Holding Company. The board of directors of Zhongjie Company elected Lin Liangtai as the acting chairman today.

Lin Liangtai holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Civil Engineering of National Taiwan University. He once served as the director of the Transportation Bureau of the Taichung City Government, the chairman of the Transportation Society of the Republic of China, a research scholar at the Wright Foundation in Fall, USA, and a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Lin Liangtai promoted the bus reform in Taichung during his tenure as the director of transportation, greatly increasing the city's bus routes and traffic volume. The public bicycle rental system iBike he built was also widely loved by the citizens. The MRT Green Line project was also promoted smoothly during his tenure. It plays an important role in the development of Taichung's public transportation system.

After Lin Liangtai resigned as the director of transportation, he assisted the Transportation Research Institute of the Ministry of Communications in planning and formulating the development strategy of public transportation in the Zhongzhangtou area. MaaS service construction in Penghu, Kaohsiung, Hualien, Taitung and other regions, with extensive experience in strategic planning and cross-domain integration of public transportation services.
