The Tanzania Peace and Reconciliation Community has advised Kenyan leaders and politicians to follow the example of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and seek reconciliation to save the nation from chaos.

This was stated by the Chairman of the Association, Alhad Musa Salum when he spoke to journalists about the protests that caused violence, destruction of property and destruction of peace in Kenya.

"First, we apologize to the people and the government of Kenya for the damage caused and the destruction of property.

We are asking Kenyans in this period to put nationalism first," he said.

He said that in the protests that took place on Monday of this week in Kenya, there was destruction of property, burning of houses of worship, including a mosque and a church, which should be condemned and prevented from continuing.

"Kenya is our partner in the East African Community (EAC), when they are not at peace they can infect us or bring refugees, we would not want to go there.

We call on the government and politicians to see how to find true reconciliation and sustainable peace.

Prioritize nationality before religion and ethnicity," he emphasized.

He thanked President Samia for managing the reconciliation between the government and political parties and asked Kenya to emulate the example where Tanzania until today has true reconciliation and politics are held peacefully in the country.

"We ask them to see this as an example so that they too can enjoy the cake of peace in their country.

Because the lack of peace has serious consequences.

We ask that they see the value of having peace.

Kenya is one country and Kenyans will continue to be one," he said.

On his part, the Secretary General of the Reconciliation Society in the country, Israel Ole Gabriel Maasa asked Kenyans to see that peace is greater than any title and also that the interest of the Nation is better than personal interest.

"I ask Kenyan leaders and politicians to see this.

Personal interests should not destroy the peace of the nation or the image.

Dialogue is more beneficial than protest.

Stay together and reach a compromise.

In addition, the community asked Muslims and Christians, who are all currently in the fasting service, to pray for the leaders of Tanzania led by President Samia so that they lead the nation well.
