The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, has laid a wreath at the monument of the bombs that exploded at the American embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in 1998, while promising that the United States will continue to cooperate with Tanzania in fighting terrorism.

Kamala has placed a wreath in the monument as it has been 25 years since the incident took place.

Speaking today March 30, 2023 with eight former employees of the American Embassy who survived the terrorist attack that occurred on the night of August 7, 1998 Kamala said that his government will cooperate with Tanzania to oppose terrorism so that the land of Tanzania and the United States become a safe place for the citizens of all countries two.

"The United States stands with Tanzania in mourning the deaths of 11 Tanzanians who were employees of the American Embassy, ​​and will continue to cooperate with Tanzania in eradicating terrorism in the world," he said.

The American Ambassador when the attack took place in 1998, Charles Stith said that although it was a frightening event, he is grateful to the Government of Tanzania under the President of the Third Phase, Benjamin Mkapa, for the great cooperation he gave to deal with the incident.

He said the reason for building a memorial monument for the incident is to honor the 11 Tanzanians who died and all those who were injured as well as to maintain the friendship that exists between Tanzania and the United States in various fields.

And, the Director General of the National Museum Noel Lwoga has said that the visit of the Vice President of the United States has been contributed to a great extent by the great effort made by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in strengthening diplomacy and cooperation with the nations of the world.
