During President

Volodymyr Zelenskyi's

speech by video link to the Austrian parliament on March 30, deputies from the pro-Russian far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ) left the hall.

Of the five parties in the parliament, the FPO has the third largest number of seats in the lower house.

This was reported by The Guardian.

Representatives of the Austrian Freedom Party were present at the beginning of the speech and then left.

They left signs on the tables with the party logo and the inscriptions "a place for neutrality" or "a place for peace."

By the way, right-wing populist parties previously opposed the Ukrainian leader's speech, referring to the country's military neutrality.

Earlier on his Facebook, FPÖ leader Herbert Kikl called Zelensky's planned speech a blow to Austria's neutrality: "The speech of a representative of the warring party in the center of our democracy is an absolute violation of the taboo."

During the speech, Zelensky emphasized that morally it is impossible to maintain a neutral position against evil.

He also invited the speaker of the lower house of the Austrian parliament, Wolfgang Sobotka, and other deputies to Ukraine to see the consequences of the Russian war

"Supporting our people now means understanding how important it is not to remain morally neutral towards evil. This is not about geopolitics. It is about the fact that people should always remain people, protect humanity and civilization," the president said.

Until today, Austria remained one of the three countries of the European Union, before the parliament of which Zelensky did not speak after the start of the war.

The others are Bulgaria and Hungary.

We will remind, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Alexander Schellenberg, believes that

Russia will always remain important for the countries of Europe

.

Like, if someone thinks otherwise, then they are misleading.
