An old brick building on the second floor collapsed this morning and 3 workers were trapped. Li Wenjin, director of the Central District Occupational Safety Center, said that the operator violated Article 67 of the standards for building safe and sanitary facilities. Workers should take effective preventive measures such as site improvement and structural protection. However, personnel were sent to the site to investigate and found no protective measures such as diagonal braces and steel cables. The Taichung City Labor Bureau stated that the demolition of private buildings is under the jurisdiction of the Central District Occupational Safety Center of the Occupational Safety and Health Department of the Ministry of Labor.
