The Tainan Investigation Team of the Coast Guard realized last year that there was an illegal drug trafficking group intending to smuggle drugs from China to Taiwan for profit, and immediately reported to the Kaohsiung prosecutors to direct the investigation. On the day of the operation, they fully controlled the dynamics, habits, and navigation status of the people involved and the raft. After the "Longzitou" fishing boat and the "Xinzitou" speedboat approached and moved the unknown items, they immediately dispatched patrol boats to round them up. After chasing them at sea, a batch of drug raw materials was seized on the speedboat, containing a total of 16 bags and 10 barrels of unknown drugs were determined to be Class 4 drug raw materials "tertiary butoxycarbonyl desmethylketamine" and a trace amount of Class 3 drug "desmethylketamine" after identification, with a total gross weight of 622.3 kg.

The captain of the fishing boat surnamed Xue (46 years old, Taiwanese) and the captain of the speedboat surnamed Huang (58 years old, Taiwanese) involved in the case have been prosecuted; the two are suspected of transporting the goods for the behind-the-scenes cargo owner at a price of 800,000 yuan and 200,000 yuan. This batch of drug raw materials came to Taiwan. It is certain that the source of this batch of drug raw materials is from China, and the investigators are continuing to trace the source.

Liu Junxiong, Deputy Director of the Investigation and Prevention Sub-Administration of the Coast Guard, pointed out that the successful interception of this batch of drugs is mainly the precursor raw material of ketamine, and ketamine is currently a popular drug in China. The items are listed as controlled drugs, so unscrupulous drug dealers use the excuse of legal sales in China to instruct fishermen who are financially strapped and in desperate need of financial resources to take risks to carry them. If these raw materials are smuggled into Taiwan, it is estimated that they can be made into the third-level drug ketamine. 430 kilograms, calculated as 1 gram of drugs per person, can be used by 430,000 people, which is very harmful.
