The DIRECTOR of Kibaha Town Council, Mshamu Munde, has asked citizens with land disputes to start at the grassroots level rather than running to his office.

Munde said this when he was talking to HabariLEO and explained that there has been a tendency for people to rush to the Director's office when the disputes can be resolved by village chairmen, village and ward executives.

"The Director's office has many things to do, including the implementation of development projects, so I suggest that any citizen who comes to my office for land disputes should make sure he has a letter from the village or ward executive that shows that his issue has not been resolved at the village level. ” he said.

In addition, Munde said that the Director's recourse to the criterion that the chairpersons and executives are a source of conflict is not enough to satisfy themselves because the leaders are there according to the law and are paid for fulfilling their duties.

Likewise, Munde said that at the moment there has been fraud where some brokers have fake documents and then they open a case in the land councils, one of them wins the case, if he wins the case he sells the land and then they share the money with the one who won while the legal owner of the land does not know what is going on.

"My office in collaboration with the Institute for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption (Pakukuru) already has the information and it is being investigated in detail and when it is completed they will be brought to court," he said.
