Provision of additional medical teams during the summer active season along the Northern and Southern Black Sea coasts - this was agreed upon at a meeting yesterday, March 29, by the Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov and the Minister of Health Dr. Asen Medzhidiev.

This was announced by the Ministry of Health.

The initiative is carried out with the cooperation of the local authority on the Black Sea and the academic community in the maritime cities.

Medjidiev specified that the issue of providing quality medical care during the summer tourist season was discussed with the regional governor of Burgas, Prof. Maria Neikova, with the mayor of the city, Dimitar Nikolov, as well as with the mayors of the small settlements along the Bulgarian coast.

The topic was also discussed with the rectors of the medical universities in Varna and Burgas, as well as with the directors of the "Pirogov" emergency aid institute and the "St.

Marina" - Varna.

The Ministry of Health is making great efforts to provide medical assistance in remote and small settlements, the Minister of Health emphasized.

"Our cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism helps a lot in the implementation of this activity, as we try to cover all the resorts because of the additional load on the system with tourists during the active season," Minister Medjidiev pointed out.

The Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Education and Culture will monitor the leasing of beaches in our country.

Minister Dimitrov thanked Dr. Medzhidiev for his cooperation and good partnership, as well as for his understanding of the processes in tourism.

"Security and good health care are the basis of the development of the quality tourist service", pointed out Minister Dimitrov.

Securing additional teams was one of the first steps the cabinet took when it took office last summer.

At the beginning of August last year, ten emergency medical teams were sent to the village.
