A Russian court arrested an American journalist accused of espionage.

According to the information of APA's Moscow correspondent, the court considered the request of the prosecutor regarding the selection of preventive measures against Evan Gershkovic, the reporter of the "Wall Street Journal" publication of the United States of America, and chose the measure of preventive detention against the American journalist.

It should be noted that today the Federal Security Service of Russia announced that Gershkovich was detained in Yekaterinburg on charges of espionage.

According to the FTX, the American journalist was collecting state secret information about one of the enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex under the instructions of the United States.

The journalist said that he came to the city to write an article about "Wagner" Private Military Company.
